Keppel's efforts to continually improve its corporate governance and disclosure practices have been recognised in the Governance and Transparency Index (GTI) 2012.
Keppel Corporation was ranked fourth while Keppel Land and Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation (Keppel T&T) were ranked sixth and 13th respectively. These companies have consistently ranked in the top 20 since GTI was launched in 2009.
The GTI 2012 mean score was 34.9, from a total of 674 SGX-listed companies ranked. Keppel Corporation, Keppel Land and Keppel T&T achieved creditable scores with 93, 92 and 81 points respectively. The scores were improved from the previous year, reflecting Keppel's commitment to raise standards in corporate governance and transparency.
The study is a collaborative effort between the National University of Singapore's Business School's Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations, CPA Australia and The Business Times.
Companies were assessed on their corporate governance disclosure and practices, as well as the timeliness, accessibility and transparency of financial results announcements.
