Mr Au Yong Kong Seng has been appointed GM of Wuhu Sanshan Port Co., Ltd, a joint venture between Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation (Keppel T&T) and Sinotrans Ltd, with effect from 1 May 2012.
Mr Au Yong, 51, who joined Keppel T&T in 2006 as GM of Keppel Logistics (Foshan), will oversee the development of Wuhu Sanshan Port in China. The port, located along Yangtze River, will serve Wuhu City, Anhui Province and the central region of China.
Mr Au Yong's responsibilities include the recruitment of key functions for the company, management of port construction, procurement and installation of key equipment as well as the establishment of key operating procedures and processes.
Mr Max Ng, previously from Wuhu Annto Logistics Co Ltd, and Mr Kuang Ping Jian from Keppel Logistics (Foshan) have also been seconded to Wuhu Sanshan Port as Deputy CFO and AGM (Projects) respectively.
Replicating Keppel T&T's integrated port logistics model in Foshan, Wuhu Sanshan Port will have four 10,000 dwt berths and a handling capacity of more than seven million tonnes a year when fully completed. It will provide services such as international freight forwarding, customs declaration and third party logistics services, on top of standard port services.
