As a leading third party logistics service provider in Singapore, Keppel Logistics collaboratively innovates with like-minded partners to provide better solutions to customers.
To position itself at the forefront of the industry, Keppel Logistics has partnered Republic Polytechnic's Centre of Innovation for Supply Chain Management (COI-SCM) to test-bed the Cloud Logistics Tracking software developed by Republic Polytechnic.
The software will provide logistics companies with better visibility to manage delivery operations and track transaction status in real time through mobile handsets, using cloud technology.
Besides real-time monitoring, the software collects data which can be used to generate analytics of their delivery operations. It can also process external information, like real-time traffic conditions, to calculate a more accurate prediction of arrival time for their customers.
Jointly set up by SPRING Singapore, the Economic Development Board and Republic Polytechnic, the COI-SCM aims to champion supply chain excellence for Singapore-based companies through innovation and process re-engineering, adoption of technology, and training programmes to develop supply chain expertise. The Centre was officially launched on 22 April 2013 by Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of State, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport.
During the launch of Centre of Innovation for Supply Chain Management at Republic Polytechnic, Keppel Logistics showcased how real time information can help companies improve the predictability of deliveries.
