Leveraging its expertise in third party logistics and cold chain services, Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation (Keppel T&T) was invited to share about the progress of its food zone logistics park in Jilin City, Jilin Province, at the China International Logistics Development Conference 2014.
Speaking at the event held on 27 April 2014 in Beijing, Mr Tan Hoe Lai, GM of Jilin Sino-Singapore Food Zone International Logistics Co., Ltd, a 70%-owned subsidiary of Keppel T&T, said, "The Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone International Logistics Park (Logistics Park) will provide a consolidated platform for the trading, storage and distribution of food products and aims to become a major trading and logistics hub for Changchun- Jilin-Tumen economic belt and the larger Northeast China."
A joint venture project with the Jilin Municipal Government, the Logistics Park is the sole food logistics park operator within the Food Zone and will offer users a seamless flow of transactions and services. Spanning approximately 40 hectares, the first phase is expected to begin operations in 3Q 2015.
Attended by senior government officials and business leaders of China's large state-owned and private enterprises, the logistics conference provides a platform for related Chinese companies and international counterparts to network and exchange industrial insights and experience.
