Disruption and innovation were two major themes during Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation’s (Keppel T&T) strategy meeting that was held on 4 July 2016. During this annual meeting, Keppel T&T’s management and Board are briefed on the industry macro-environment by external experts and collectively assess market conditions to chart new strategies.
In his opening address, Mr Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Corporation and Chairman of Keppel T&T, stressed the importance of harnessing synergy among business units as a response to economic and political volatility. Citing the data cent re business as an example where Keppel’s Group’s businesses can collaborate to optimise value creation, Mr Loh encouraged participants to “hunt as a pack.”
Mr Thomas Pang, CEO of Keppel T&T, affirmed this sentiment and added, “There is a need to respond to business disruptions with innovation. To do so, we are working closely with our colleagues in other businesses to identify focus areas and seize opportunities together.”
In response to customers’ changing needs, the data centre division is introducing a growing suite of value added services that includes cloud interconnectivity and scalable network infrastructure, access to high performance computing resources and comprehensive cyber security solutions. For its logistics business, Keppel T&T is examining growth sectors and sets its sights on developing expertise in highpotential areas.
